Bio: H. Robert Tillman, Esq.

Rob Tillman is principal owner of the Tillman Law Group, a small law firm that helps businesses grow quickly and safely, and helps families protect their personal and business assets. 


Tillman is an accomplished Attorney, Bank Regulator, Board Member, and Special Advisor with 30 years of success helping entrepreneurs, small businesses, non-profits, banks, and credit unions achieve their goals.  Tillman is a valuable asset for anyone seeking expert assistance with growth issues, risk management, compliance, and corporate governance. His wide range of experience also provides a deep understanding of the small business perspective and the large enterprise view. 


Prior to devoting full time to his law practice, Tillman served as an Officer at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia and as the Banking Director for the State of NJ. Tillman was also Senior Counsel for Merrill Lynch (NY) and Assistant Counsel for UJB Financial (now Bank of America). While Tillman is recognized as a leader in the financial services industry, he is also highly regarded as a business and community advocate, who cares deeply about the strength and stability of minority communities.


Tillman has served on various boards, and is currently a board member of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB) Central Jersey Chapter and Anchor Bank. He is a member of the NJ State Bar Association Small Firm section, and a member of the Due Diligence team for the MDI Keepers Fund providing capital investment in minority owned banks in the United States.


Tillman earned a juris doctor degree from Cornell Law School and an economics degree from Boston University. He is blessed with three adult children from a prior marriage, and gained four adult children and several grandchildren when he remarried in 2023.
